Track pupils’ performances with our Free MTC resource that mimics the DfE’s own test.
The MTC is an online check for pupils in year 4. Schools can decide when their pupils will sit the check within a three week window in June each year. The school can also decide on what device type – tablet or computer (no paper option) – pupils will use.
The MTC will be different for each and every child as the test features a set of 25 generated times tables questions.Pupils will have 6 seconds to read the question, understand it, and enter a response. They will then receive a 3 second pause before the next question is shown. So with 9 seconds for each question and 25 questions, the test will take 225 seconds or 3 minutes 45 seconds.
We mean no charge, no obligations and free unlimited access.
We set it up for a year. There are no invoices unless someone explicitly orders a resource.
Teachers can track progress and students who are struggling are highlighted.
The app is available for Windows 7/8/10, Android devices, iPads, Kindle Fires and some Chromebooks.
What will be tested?
– Questions will be based on the 2 to 12 multiplication tables. There is a focus on the 6, 7, 8, 9 and 12 multiplication tables. There will be no division.
Who will take it?
– All eligible year 4 pupils who are registered at maintained schools, special schools or academies (including free schools) in England will be required to take the check.
